Outfit of the Day: Patriotic Cardigan from Elhoffer Design

For our latest outfit of the day, we are featuring our Patriotic Cardigans from Elhoffer Design.

This cardigan has a vintage cropped cut that is universally flattering.

The sweater is super soft and comfy.  A perfect choice for bounding either Captain America or Wonder Woman.

I’ve paired mine with my Cap leggings from Gold Bubble Clothing.  Scout paired hers with black leggings, and we both wore black t-shirts.  My trusty tall boots are from Lane Bryant, and Scout’s silver sneakers are from Target.  We both wore a red chiffon scarf to give it a vintage style.  The scarves are from Amazon.

Get your own cardi at Elhoffer Design.  As always with Elhoffer, these are size inclusive.  Women’s sizing, not Juniors, XS-3XL, but supplies are limited, so grab yours while they are in stock!

So Ya Say You Want To Cosplay?

Fantastic article about getting started in cosplay!

Crazy 4 Comic Con

So after much debating and soul searching you’ve decided to finally do it. You’ve decided it’s time to make that big step into the great world of cosplay (congrats btw). This of course opens up a whole new world of fun experiences at whatever con you are planning on attending, however, it can also be a little overwhelming. A couple of years ago I finally pulled the trigger on a cosplay idea I had been kicking around for years and I am so glad I did. It is a blast. If you’re curious about what I dress up as it is a Star Wars spoof. Everyone knows Boba Fett, the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, but do you know his redneck cousin, Bubba Fett (the most feared redneck in the galaxy)? Bubba repairs moisture vaporators on Tatooine and is a pretty easy going fellow as long as he…

Last recap of London

OK, now that we’ve driven you all crazy with our vacation photos, it is time for more!  This is the last post we promise.

Our trip of a lifetime wrapped up with a voyage on the London Eye, stopping by to hear Big Ben and a trip to Harrods.

The London Eye offers breathtaking views of the whole city.  It was a bit drizzly, like London can be, on New Year’s Eve, but we had a great time taking it all in.

We took in Harrods and tried on some ridiculously expensive fur h

Then I got to finally buy a real Harrods bag of my very own!  A lifelong dream of this fashion obsessed girl.

Then we stopped in Picadilly Circus to see the sights:

We wrapped up our trip by going to the Victoria and Albert Museum and stopping by Big Ben:

We had such an amazing time in London.  It was truly the trip of a lifetime.  Thank you for letting us share the experience with you.

AN INTERVIEW WITH HERO WITHIN’S TONY KIM

An excellent article about Hero Within!

Comic Con Fever

herowithin The SUPERMAN blazer from the Hero Within collection.

Hero Within is a brand new line of men’s “geek chic” clothing, inspired by your favourite DC Comics characters such as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and more. I spoke to designer Tony Kim about his experiences creating the line, and what Hero Within means to him.

Hero Within is described by Kim as “born out of a frustration for the lack of anything for sophisticated geeks to wear”, and the line boasts a unique, “empowering” style which is “perfect for the office, out on a date, or attending an event.”

When asked about his inspirations, Kim told me that he is a “lifelong DC Comics fan”, explaining that “the Justice League embodies everything wonderful about heroism” and that he “wanted something that celebrated that.”

My Final and Most Important Tip Post Before Comic-Con

This!

Crazy 4 Comic Con

HallH

I have traditionally reserved my final tip post for the ‘big one’ that I feel is most important to consider. In the past, I have done my “Top 10 Ways to Have the Best Experience” or something similar- which always gets a lot of clicks. While these posts are important to me, I want to end my year long run of tips with something that is very close to my heart. As we all know, fans come from all over the world to take part in Nerd Mecca for 4 days- and they come for various reasons. However, Comic-Con is something so much more than a collection of Exclusives, events, celebrity sightings or pop culture news. It’s something the world needs to see.

The news has been a real bummer lately. The past few months months alone has been riddled with terrorist attacks, acts of racism, police shootings and political tension. I am tired…

Comic-ConVersation: Shawn & Gavin Richter

Hey look, my fellow panelists did a thing! Check it out!!!

Crazy 4 Comic Con

Another amazing aspect of comic con culture is the emergence of family cosplay. I love how Comic-Con has become a place where parents and offspring can celebrate their fandom together. Cons truly are a place where everyone is a kid! One dynamic duo that have really modeled this is Shawn and Gavin Ritcher. Coming onto the scene as ‘Cap and Kid Coulson’, these two have creatively cosplayed in many Marvel pairs over the past few years. In our chat at Sacramento Comic Con, we talk about the cosplay community, important values and San Diego Comic-Con- all while creeping on Sebastian Stan.

Follow Shawn at @cofphoto and Gavin @KidCoulson. They will also be on the Cosplaying with your Kids panel at SDCC Friday July 22, 2016 2:00pm. You can download it here or better yet, subscribe to me on iTunes!
